Suspended in disbelief. Frequently breaking the fourth wall. Collector of novelty watches and Kewpie dolls. I run Fashion Tips From Comic Strips and I am the resident superheroic sartorialist on ComicsAlliance.

LOOKBOOK

[Zatanna, #12]
In about a month, I will be heading to California for my & Alicia’s birthday week*!
Since we will be spending half a week in San Francisco** and half a week in LA/Disneyland, I would love suggestions for places to visit in either city (specifically for shopping and/or sight-seeing)! Feel free to post your suggestions in the comments or drop me a line :)
*Note: We’re celebrating a week earlier this year.**Zatanna’s favorite city

  1. alvetica answered: Umami Burger! There’s one across the street from Amoeba Records. Visit that after checking out Melrose Ave
  2. wordcore answered: Haight Street in SF. LA is tricky because everything is so spread out, but Meltdown in Hollywood is LA’s best comics store.
  3. scifitvgeek answered: Check out Jeffrey’s toystore in San Francisco. They have comics, toys, and other cool stuff there!
  4. dinolich answered: Haight Street in SF is pretty great. Cool shopping, there’s an Amoeba and a Kid Robot.
  5. moonandcheese answered: If you get a chance to go around, you guys should visit Frank & Sons collectible show. You guys might like, check out online.
  6. tsuginojibun answered: In LA, make sure you check out the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica and Greystone Mansion in the Hills. :)
  7. bwightman69 answered: I found Fisherman’s Wharf in SF to be a waste of time. In LA I recommend Venice Beach or an Angels game if they’re in town.

  9. dustinismyname answered: You have to go to the Embarcedro in San Francisco at 2 am. It’s dead, but you get a great view of downtown and the Bay Bridge.
  10. chrisgrav3s answered: Meltdown Comics on Sunset.
  11. aidonwanadai answered: There’s a store on Melrose street in LA called necromance with dead bug jewelry and cool stuff. On the same street called Golden Apple Comics
  12. batmanfights answered: In San Franciso, be sure to visit The Isotope Comics Lounge (but I bet that was on the list already!)
  13. anyount answered: japan town in SF!
