QUI EST-ELLE?

Suspended in disbelief. Frequently breaking the fourth wall. Collector of novelty watches and Kewpie dolls. I run Fashion Tips From Comic Strips and I am the resident superheroic sartorialist on ComicsAlliance.
This one time, I wore a Snorlax Dress. This other time, I was in an Art Brut video. THE END.

Another Venture Bros piece adding to the build-up for Juxtapoz’s Adult Swim special issue. This time featuring the show’s married supervillian duo, The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend. Enjoy!
And look for the issue of Juxtapoz coming out this week!
I got the issue today, and this one is my absolute favorite. I hope to see it available in print form!
Oh my.
I actually made this two years ago for SDCC 2010 to wear with AK’s Dr. Girlfriend costume; however, aside from the crown and leotard, I wasn’t able to finish the rest of my costume in time before my flight to San Diego. To this day, I still have yet to finish the boots, gloves, and choker.
One of these days, I’ll get around to it. Though at this point, I’d want to redo the leotard and the crown, so the issue is not so much about finishing a couple of accessories, but remaking an entire costume.
These are my grown-up dilemmas.

Dr. Mrs. the Monarch & Batwoman/Kathy Kane, by Ming Doyle
I’ll post actual scans once my scanner eventually cooperates, but here’s a quick peek at the beautiful pieces that Ming made for me. I get heart flutters every time I look at them.
I also got a bunch of other things, but they’re presents, so I won’t post those until after the holidays.
NYCC 2011 swag: tiny paintings of Dr. Mrs. the Monarch & Hellboy, by Katie Cook.
Since I already got a tiny Batgirl from Katie at SDCC, I requested a tiny Dr. Mrs. the Monarch this time around. I also surprised AK (who couldn’t come with me to NYCC) with a tiny painting of Hellboy, snugging an even tinier kitten. ♡
Here’s one of the SDCC Venture Bros. Costume Contest bumps that aired on Adult Swim during the Venture Bros. marathon on August 28th.
In which, Joanie, AK & I do the G-A-R-Y cheer!

In which, that is pure demonic henchgirl joy on my face.
Partially from the free drinks, but mostly over the discovery that we can fly.

AK & I entered Adult Swim’s Venture Bros. Costume Contest as Monarch henchgirls with our friend Joanie Mars (who made a fetching Dr. Mrs. the Monarch, as well as a stunning Molotov earlier that day). We had a total blast, and we all got to do the G-A-R-Y cheer with Doc Hammer :D
Bonus: The three of us won the Judges’ Choice Award!
SDCC Day 2
I got Pink Poodle lip gloss as a present for AK, from MAC Cosmetics.
They give a Guild discount.
My favorite version of the Venture Bros. intro.
