iamgangles asked: If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living that facilitates your attendance to so many conventions?
My salary at my full-time office job covers all of the grown-up guff (i.e. my rent, bills, & school loans) and all of the fun stuff (including convention-related costs, such as badges, travel/hotel, souvenirs, food, cosplay supplies, etc). Because of Fashion Tips From Comic Strips and my freelance gig at ComicsAlliance, I’ve been fortunate enough to get some of these convention expenses subsidized, while doing freelance work at conventions over the past couple of years. Regardless, my convention schedule has been consistently busy since 2008.
I also think that living in Boston gives me a geographical advantage to attend most of the major conventions in New England/New York, in regards to travel and convenience. I hope that answered your question :)
vivalaakaay asked:
Oh my gosh where did you find that LSP figure?!
I don’t actually own it yet since I don’t believe they’re on sale yet. You can find more information on
ComicsAlliance :)

peppermintivannova asked:
Hi!, I would like to know where did you get the Polly Pocket watch??? I had one, but I lost it. :(
Unfortunately, my Polly Pocket watches are vintage. eBay is probably your best bet!
dollysoda asked:
Do you have a link to that moon bunny shirt? I can’t find it on the site D:
Hmm, We Love Fine doesn’t seem to have it in their current catalog :( I’ll see if they plan on restocking that design in the near future!
theworldasitoncewasnot asked:
Did you get to finish Cat-Eye Boy? I only read some of volume 1
Yeah, I actually read volumes 1 and 2 a while ago. Cat Eyed Boy is the best.
annatheluddite asked:
In sorry to bother you, but I follow you and you cosplay- why when you cosplay and gender swap, is it called “rule 63 (name of superhero) Anyway, keep being awesome
“Rule 63” is just Internet slang for gender-swapped. I’m sure you could find a long explanation on it on a website dedicated to the knowledge of memes.
miredclarity13 asked:
My friend thinks you’re awesome!
Okay.

eBay
allhopeliesindoom asked:
You’re in LA? I thought you were from NY.
I was only in LA for vacation. I’m actually from Boston.
coituskid asked:
Do you have any tips for organizing a vast wardrobe? Half of mine is currently piled on furniture or spilling out of my closet.
Clothing racks! I have three of them in my room and one in my sewing space to hold my skirts, dresses, sweaters, jackets, blouses, and costumes. They’re a great way to organize and display your clothes. I also heavily suggest going through your wardrobe twice a year to get rid of things to either resell or donate to charity - I know how difficult it can be to part with clothing, but it’s quite liberating to get rid of unworn clutter.
entangled-dreams asked:
I was looking through your Lookbook and I absolutely LOVE your Daft Punk earrings. It says there that they’re custom made. Did you make them?
I commissioned the Daft Punk acrylic pieces from an artist, which I adhered to earring backs.
deannatroi asked:
Do you have any favorite etsy shops for clothes and/or accessories?
jenniferrrr-lynn asked:
have you started making/selling bows again? or will you?
I have a few business things to take care of before the relaunch, but very, very soon :)
xxxskateboards asked:
I’m not into comic books but I think you’re amazingly pretty. Sigh. And the funny thing is I’m not attracted to Asian women what so ever. So that is saying something that you’re doing something right.
And the funny thing is…

nas1234567890 asked: are you actually a celebrity or something or am i totally misinterpreting your latest post?
Yes.
twentypercentcooler asked: How often do you discuss David Brothers?
Only once.
Just now.
With you.
About this.
Side note: I still haven’t had the pleasure of meeting fellow ComicsAlliance colleague David Brothers. Though once that happens, we’ll be sure to complete the cycle and discuss Chris Sims.
morbidlychubby asked: Did you get the name Betty Felon from the Elvis Costello song "Living in Paradise"?
Indeed.
I plan to return the favor when I write a song about my eternal crush on Elvis Costello.
Anonymous asked: You post a lot about comic fashion, but I am just curious on what you're favorite comic books are (or who are your favorite characters)?
My favorite picks on my pull list at the moment are:
- Batwoman
- iZombie
- The Flash
- Animal Man
- Swamp Thing
- Huntress
- Wonder Woman
- Tiny Titans
- Batman
- Batman & Robin
- Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes
- Moon Knight
As for my all-time favorite comics/characters, you can probably deduce that information from the posts that fall under my comics tag :)
fekbenn asked: I notice you always seem to be in a comic book store in your outfit photos. Do you happen to work there, or do you just frequent the store to give your photos the proper atmosphere? :)
Haha, a lot of people have mistaken me as an employee XD That store’s actually been my LCS since I was a kid - I go there almost every Wednesday to pick up my new comics, and my photographer friend (who is also the manager of the store) takes my outfit photos for me whenever I swing by!
And I suppose the shop does provide the proper atmosphere for my outfit shots, especially whenever my outfits are inspired by one of the new releases that week :)
Anonymous asked: i was hopelessly checking you out at projektfest. there. i said it.
AK, stop leaving anonymous messages on my Tumblr - I know where you sleep.
Anonymous asked: Do you really hate Monster High?
I don’t actually hate Monster High per se; I just don’t particularly care for it. Some of my friends love the dolls and while I can see the appeal, they’re just simply not my thing. I don’t really collect dolls aside from kewpies and Mego dolls.
Anonymous asked: Where did you get that Bride of Frankenstein Ribbon!?
Haha, I got my Bride of Frankenstein sash from Claire’s, back in 2003 :)
